As Marci explained, Top Ten search engine and directory placement is the single most important aspect of getting lots of traffic to your web site. Please read this short report in full because it will briefly explain exactly how to be effective with your company web site in regards to search engine placement.Think about this for a minute, if someone logged on to the internet to search for a specific type of business or service in Las Cruces or the surrounding areas, and your business fit the catagory, would that potential customer be able to find your business web site in the top ten search engines on the first page in the top five? Or worse yet, your competitor is listed and you're not. Check for yourself with the tool provided below.

If you had a auto repair business, you would want to be listed in the following in the search engines & directories (Yahoo, MSN, Netscape, Google, Looksmart, etc.) as a minimum and a few others ( these will come later ).

I think you get the picture. Also it is important to dedicate one full page to each category to achieve high relevance and good key word content for slam dunk high ratings in the search engines.
If you were looking for your type of business on the internet what specific keywords would you search? What are some of the keywords that describe your business?

Go to MSN and search for Las Cruces Optometrist. What you’ll find is that Paul Curry Construction is number one on the page and no other optometrist is listed because his or her web sites are penalized or not listed. Paul Curry is listed because his web site was the closest related web site that was relevant to the search because it has the keywords Las Cruces optometrist and eye clinic in the text and description. Short note, your web site must be built with search engine placement in mind and pre determined categories so that the writer of the page can create good keyword content. It is not recommended building a web site first and wondering how to place it in the search engines second, it just doesn’t work.
Now go to Goggle and search for Las Cruces optometrist, you’ll find our client at number one, Doc Lucero. Doc Lucero is not in the MSN directory yet. This directory takes longer to index unless you pay them $299, we’ll do it for free, but it takes longer.

The key to internet success is Top Rankings in the search engines, a professionally built web site that has automated functions. CGI-forms can make it easy to get information to you, automated auto responders to answer the first leg of your emails from your web site, ( cgi form at bottom of page ) credit card and e-commerce processing, to make it easy to buy from you.
